Overview

The Slack Inbound Integration from Enterpret directly ingests conversations from chosen Slack channels into Enterpret's data pipeline. This integration facilitates our customers in seamlessly incorporating their Slack conversations and threads into their feedback analysis process.

Here's what you need to get started:

  1. First, authorize Enterpret through OAuth. This provides Enterpret with the necessary access to curate the data.

  2. Next, install the Enterpret app into the channels where you're looking to gather feedback.

Our data ingestion operates on a 36-hour cycle via API integration, focusing on thread responses within this timeframe. Please note that any additional responses to threads on Slack that exceed this 36-hour window will not be captured in our data intake.

Configure

  1. Click "Sign in with Google" and log in with your work email.

  2. Once you have logged in successfully, navigate to the integrations page by clicking on 'Integrations' under your profile.

  3. Click on the "+ New Integration" button.

  4. Choose "Slack" from the presented options by clicking the "Connect" button in front of it.

  5. You will be redirected to the Slack login page if you are not logged in. You still need to log Slack account credentials.

  6. Allow Enterpret access to your Slack workplace.

  7. Once the above step succeeds, you will see Slack as a "Connected" integration in your account. Click on the "Edit" button on the card to specify the channels to ingest data.

  8. Select one or more channels from the drop-down and click the "Save" button.

Ingesting Data from a Private Channel

You'll need to take another step if you'd like to integrate private channels with Enterpret for feedback analysis.

In the interest of your privacy, Enterpret does not automatically ingest data from these private channels.

You need to personally invite the "Enterpret" Slack app to each private channel you want to ingest.

Step 1: Set up your Slack Integration and specify the private channels for ingestion.

The private channels are recognizable by a lock icon before them while selecting the channels for data ingestion.

Step 2: Save the integration once you've chosen the necessary channels.

Step 3: Open Slack and proceed to your chosen channel for data ingestion. Click the “Integrations” tab and select “Add an App” under the Apps section.

Step 4: Click the “Add” button next to the Enterpret Slack app.

Note:- It's the "Enterpret" Slack app you should invite for feedback analysis purposes, not the "Enterpret Bot" Slack app, which is used to deliver reports to you on Slack.
