What is User Management in Enterpret?

User Management on Enterpret allows you to control access and permissions within your workspace, so you can effectively collaborate with your team, avoid unforeseen changes, and restrict access for certain users when necessary.

Let's explore Enterpret's user management features further:

Understanding User Roles

User roles ensure that all Enterpret users have appropriate access and functionality based on their responsibilities and requirements. It helps maintain security, streamline workflows, and customize the user experience.

Enterpret currently provides two user roles: Admin and Member

  • Admins control the integrations and data that flows to Enterpret, and the users that have access to Enterpret. This role also includes all editor permissions.

  • Editors control the insights that can be derived from Enterpret. This gives them complete control of the Taxonomy and management of metadata to make deriving insights easier. They don't control users, or data.

  • Members don't control the Taxonomy, or the metadata. Members are consumers of insights. They can create their own artefacts and subscribe to reports.

  • Viewers are users with read-only access to Enterpret. They can't create artefacts, only consume them.

Integration deactivation and deletion: Admins can deactivate integrations from the Integrations page. Permanent deletion is not available in the user-facing UI. Contact Enterpret Support to request deletion, and specify whether data previously ingested through the integration should also be deleted.

Auto-Approval

The Auto-Approve setting controls whether new users with an approved company email domain can join your Enterpret workspace without an individual invitation.

How access works

When auto-approve is on: New users with an approved company email domain are automatically approved when they sign up or sign in through SSO, where SSO is configured. They do not need an individual invitation and receive the workspace’s default role.

When auto-approve is off: New users cannot access the workspace through sign-in alone. They must open a valid invitation link sent from the workspace and complete sign-in. The invitation activates their access and applies the role selected by the inviter.

SSO and auto-approve are separate: SSO verifies a user’s identity. Auto-approve determines whether an authenticated new user can access the workspace without an invitation.

Managing Auto-Approve

Auto-approve is enabled by default. To deactivate or activate it:

  1. Click your profile icon at the bottom left of the dashboard and select "Settings."
