Ingestion Blockers

Updated by Vaishnavi

Ingestion blockers are rules that exclude unwanted feedback from an integration's processed feedback dataset. They help keep your analysis focused on the records you want to include.

What can ingestion blockers block?

  • Metadata fields: Exclude records using available fields, such as tags, status, or a spam flag. Rules can match values, check whether a field is present, or compare supported values.

  • Text patterns: Exclude records containing specified words, phrases, or patterns using regular expressions. This can help filter recurring spam content, including in email integrations.

  • Short content: Exclude supported text records below a configured minimum word count.

Rules can also define which records to include. Your Enterpret team can help confirm the available fields and how your rules work together.

What are the limitations?

  • These rule-based blockers do not automatically identify every spam or inappropriate message. Text rules match the patterns you specify; they do not judge the meaning of every email.

  • Metadata rules require the relevant field to be available on the record. A spam flag cannot be used if the integration does not provide it.

  • Text-pattern and minimum-word-count rules do not apply to audio recording records.

  • Adding a blocker does not automatically delete existing records or purge raw ingestion copies.

Can rules be applied to existing records?

Yes. We can help with a retrofill to apply ingestion rules to previously ingested feedback and remove records excluded by those rules. Your Enterpret team will confirm availability for your workspace, the matching criteria, and the deletion scope before running it.

Set up ingestion blockers

Ingestion blockers can be set up after your integration has been created.

Please reach out to your CSM or support@enterpret.com to help set this up.
